Evaluation of my documentaries.

Image
Evaluation of documentary work so far… Evaluate the 3 types/styles of documentary: expository, observational and participatory. In terms of the practical work what went well, what could have gone better and why?  (so the group documentaries and the interview) What techniques and styles of filmmaking will you use for your individual documentary project. Initial ideas for your own 5 minute documentary.   Make a list of possible topics, people, places, stories… What could you do? How and why?        In  terms of practical work, my expository documentary went well, this is because we done everything that was planned and in our brief, in terms of technical things in our documentary it could have been much better, things that could have been better was the editing, I think some areas needed to be cut because its too long, I think the audience would lose interest and stop watching, another thing that was needed in m...

Her girlfriend Susan is trying to calm her down and comfort her, telling her that her parents will love her no matter what. Participatory Mode definition and Characteristics.

Definition: In participatory (or interactive) documentaries, the encounter between filmmaker and subject is recorded. This style of documentary includes interviews and the interviewees usually become central to the film. The filmmaker is seen asking questions of their subjects, sharing experiences with them. Different viewpoints are represented and participatory documentaries leave the audience to draw their own conclusions. Characteristics: The acknowledged presence of the camera and crew The film-maker speaking directly to her/his subjects (often interviews) An emphasis on monologues and dialogues Representation of multiple viewpoints, contributing different information Editing which maintains logical continuity No definitive argument, leaving the audience to decide

High Key Photos Examples.

Image
These pictures are high key because the backdrop is white, the camera settings are the main things that makes this high key, the focus was set to manual, this is better for me because i like to create a shallow depth of field in an image, also sometimes i like pictures blurry to make it look different, the iso was set to normal, it wasn't too high because if it was it would be too bright, and if it was too low it would be very dark, the lights that were set up were very important, this is because each light has a setting from 1-6, the lights were all set a 4 this is because it balances out the lighting with the iso and the shutter speed.
