Image
Documentary modes/types Expository mode is a regular form of documentary using direct address and directors do this to address the viewer directly, using titles or voices that advance an argument about the historical world, This style of documentary is shown usually on television. My Group Documentary  The Purpose of the documentary is to show how people with disabilities make their way around the school. What is High Key Photography?

Image
What High Key Photography is? (Infinity lighting) We want the whole backdrop white, Two cone light are called flash reflectors, they just need to light the backdrop.(they need to be set up on 4-6 which are the highest settings) the purpose of it is too light the whole backdrop white. Model light would be on your model, this would add lighting to the set up, if it’s too bright you’ll have to set that backdrop like lower to create the best lighting for you photo. Your Backlight brings your model (subject) forward, Silver side of a reflector, give you more contrast so it makes the shadows more darker. Silver would be used for black and white pictures generally. The Gold side of the reflector gives you a warmth colour, and this would be used for coloured images generally.

Observational mode Documentary.

Image
Observational mode:  Observational mode  involves emphasizing the  documentary  filmmaker's engagement in observing the subject's daily life and circumstances and documenting them with an unobtrusive camera.  An example of a observational mode documentary is this one by, Frederick Wiseman. O bservational documentarians proceeded under some bylaws: no music, no interviews, no scene arrangement of any kind, and no narration.  I can tell that this documentary  is a Observational documentary because it has no music and no scene of arrangements. This also means nothing is really planned while filming a Observational Documentary.

Silhouette Photography.

Image
Silhouette  Doesn’t matter what backdrop cuz your frame is your soft-box Distance makes a difference  Can put two lights together to make a rectangle Turn the light up to 6 Move person back but it will make your frame smaller Turn light to 6 to 4 or it will be too bright. Used no reflector boards, because we did not reflect no light onto the face. The background is used with a soft box, a softbox is  a frame with a cloth covering used to diffuse the light from a flash or floodlight. The number on the softbox was 6 this means it was too bright, so the next image the softbox light got lower.  This image has reflector boards, this means that the light reflects of the boards to create a silhouette, however there isn't enough light.  At this point we told the model to turn towards the reflector boards, this would help the light reach her face so it creates the perfect silhouette effect. Moving onto this point we changed the soft box li...

Evaluation

Image
What skills have you developed What personal weaknesses have you exposed? 3 Targets. The skills i've developed during the 3 weeks, were mainly new skills on photoshop, I've gained new skills on photoshop because of my class mates. I believe this is good because it will be needed for future projects, One main thing i've learnt is new persuasive methods, for example the persuasive methods that I learnt are Humour, Emotional Appeal, Bandwagon, Punishment, Reward, Experts, Testimonial and finally Repetition. I believe all of these persuasive methods are very helpful, because I could use this for future work and it will definitely be needed at Jobs ext. Another thing I've learned was what is Semiotics, I've learnt that Semiotics is split into two which is Denotation and Connotation. Denotation is what you see, and Connotation is the hidden meanings, or hidden messages. Semiotics is used for mainly evaluation, this is really effective as it shows that you understa...
