Expository Documentary.

Expository documentary:

Expository documentary is a documentary that has a voice over and narration in the documentary, Expository documentaries are documentaries that expose a person or a topic. There are many types of documentaries however this one would be classed as one of the main ones and most familiar with. In an expository documentary the commentator talks specifically to the audience. They are often biographical, historical or talk about a certain event.

How does expository documentary appeal to the audience?

In an expository documentary the commentator talks specifically to the audience. They are often biographical, historical or talk about a certain event. They include footage, interviews or pictures exclusive to the documentary. Narration, or voice-over, is used to deliver information, provide the point of view of an unseen character, or allow an onscreen character to comment on the action.

This is an example of a Expository documentary, it's a documentary of David Attenborough which is about the ocean, David attenborough is a really good narrator and does voice overs really good and effective, this is because he explains everything in detail and it includes footage or images, However David Attenborough is rarely seen on screen, this is due to the fact that he does all the voice overs and its already effective, but when seen on screen David does not add voice overs, he would talk on set to make it less unprofessional.
