Personal Website Case Study

Image
I like this website because its layout is very simple and easy to navigate through, i like the fact that creator of this website does not over complicate things by adding a lot of side bars and a lot of images to cover up the home screen, however they keep it simple with one image and a little bit of text, this connotes professionalism, they directly show the audience what this website is for about, i can tell this from them saying who the filmmaker 'Elizabeth La, Documentary Filmmaker, and also they give a brief background information about the filmmaker to make them sure of whose work they are seeing.  Another thing i like about this website is that they give the audience of what types of documentaries they record, for example i can tell this from the screenshot theye have put for every slide, each slide would be different scenes of the documentary, this is almost a trailer however on a boo.(could be called a preview)

Documentary treatment.

My possible idea for  my   documentary, is going to be a about a Basketball player that attends Leyton Sixth Form College, it would be about his up bring and how he started to like basketball and where he is now and what achievements he has and wants to achieve. The research I will be doing is fact about basketball and the history of basketball, also I will look at how much basketball has developed in the UK. The possible locations for my documentary could be, (Outdoor and indoor basketball court), sports hall and a gym. I would use these locations to record my actor, for example Training in Basketball or recording him in an actual match. For my documentary I would want to use all the different ways of documentary, for example Expository documentary, is a documentary that has a voice over and narration in the documentary, Expository documentaries are documentaries that expose a person or a topic. There are many types of documentaries however this one w...

3 Jobs to start in the media industry

3 Jobs to start in the media industry, and work my way up, one job to start with could be a Camera trainee Trainees support the camera department and ensure equipment is moved safely and efficiently. They may assist with camera tests and be asked to load some clapperboards. They will need to liaise with digital imaging technicians and sound crew. It is not necessary to have been to film school for this role, though some experience of shooting a short film or operating a video camera would be useful. The second job I can get into is bring the First assistant editor Assistant editors take charge of the day-to-day running of the cutting room, leaving the editor free to concentrate on editing the film. Their primary task is to communicate with other departments (e.g. production, camera, sound) in order to understand and analyse the requirements of the workflow. During shooting, assistant editors check camera sheets when the rushes arrive and note any technical problems. They liai...

Is working in the media industry for me?

Is working in the media industry for me? I believe working in the media industry is for me because I believe that my editing skills are good and I can pursue a career In editing, Also the income is good for Animation, also I would like to get to VFX, this is because I like to edit and learn more, also the pro is the yearly income which is £45,900 - £53,000, however i wouldn't want to work as a freelancer, this is because it has many cons, some of the cons would be  Feeling isolated,  Hustling 24/7 for new jobs,  Inconsistent work and cash flow,  Juggling multiple clients,  No paid time off, no maternity/paternity leave ,  No company-sponsored health benefits,  No one to back you up if you're sick or injured. However someone could argue and say it is good to work freelance because  it give you  Freedom with a flexible schedule, hours and location,  Ownership: you call the shots  Selectivity with clients/choosing who yo...
